The Ford World men's curling championship has signed on another
major sponsor.
Atlantic Lottery has signed on to be the presenting sponsor for
the championship, scheduled at the Moncton Coliseum for April 4-12, 2009.
The logo for the championship, originally launched in February,
has now evolved to include Atlantic Lottery as the presenting sponsor.
Championship officials also announced that Atlantic Lottery will
be the volunteer sponsor for the event.
"The most important aspects needed when hosting a successful world
class sporting event are volunteers, local sponsorships and ticket sales,
" said World curling president Les Harrison, a resident of Moncton.
"To have a well respected organization like Atlantic Lottery as the
presenting sponsor is huge for both the community and region as it is
showcased on the world stage. Volunteers being the backbone of such
an event will appreciate the strong support provided by Atlantic Lottery,
as well as other sponsors."
Officials also announced that Pizza Delight will be the title sponsor
of the school program that will run in conjunction with the championship.
Schools in District 1 and 2 will participate in numerous ways, including
curling being taught in theory in class and gym, and followed by some
students curling at one of three clubs in the city.
Schools will adopt a team and create posters to support of their team.
Posters will be displayed at the Coliseum as well as throughout the city
through the "Paint the town campaign."
