MALVERN, Pa.— IKON Office Solutions (NYSE:IKN), the world’s largest
independent channel for document management systems and services, is
pleased to announce that STAPLES Business Depot in Canada recently
presented IKON with its Best Category Management for Business Services
award at the Staples Global Conference. STAPLES Business Depot honored
IKON with the award for IKON WebPrint, a web-based print ordering and
workflow solution, which provides the backbone of STAPLES Business Depot
online print procurement system.
STAPLES Business Depot utilizes IKON WebPrint in its Canadian operations
to provide a tool for customers to submit print requests from their desktops
via the STAPLES Canada website to any of the 300 STAPLES Business Depot stores.
At the STAPLES Business Depot store, IKON WebPrint is used by employees to
retrieve the customer files for printing and to track each print job through
production.
“IKON’s WebPrint team earned the Best Category Management for Business
Services award by producing a constant stream of innovative and intuitive
enhancements to improve the STAPLES Business Depot customer experience,”
says Pete Gibel, Vice President of Merchandise, STAPLES Business Depot.
“IKON provided us with an expert technical development team and thorough
analysis of performance and opportunity areas. The end result of this
partnership was a doubling of print sales year over year.”
“IKON is proud to be recognized by STAPLES Business Depot with the Best
Category Management for Business Services award for the IKON WebPrint
solution,” says Sean Smith, President, IKON Canada. “Our successful
relationship with STAPLES Business Depot is just one example of how IKON
strives to partner with each one of our customers to understand their
business needs and deliver the world-class service and innovative solutions
that they expect and deserve from us.”
IKON WebPrint is an ASP web-to-print solution for copy and/or print
center operators that is hosted by IKON and accessed through a web browser,
meaning customers have no hardware to buy or software to upgrade. IKON WebPrint
allows print operators to see order summaries and track jobs, while their customers
can modify or cancel orders at the click of a button and check project status online.
The IKON WebPrint interface is designed for ease of use, and because it
is on the web, accessible from anywhere. Users receive automatic order
confirmations by email. All jobs are ticketed, and cost estimates are given
online, even for reproduction of hard copy documents. Users can also print
to their print center from their desktop just as if they were printing to a
local print device, all of which helps print centers like STAPLES Business
Depot provide better customer service.
