- Sunshine Week - Sunshine Week is a national initiative to open a
dialogue about the importance of open government and freedom of information.
Participants include print, broadcast and online news media, civic groups,
libraries, non-profits, schools and others interested in the public's
right to know.
- The National Freedom of Information Coalition - works to protect the
public's right to oversee its government. NFOIC annually offers some
$220,000 in grants to foster the creation and growth of state FOI coalitions
to protect the public's right to an open government, following guidelines
established by the Freedom of Information Act.
- United Nations Economic Commission for Europe - The Aarhus Clearinghouse
for Environmental Democracy serves to collect, disseminate, and exchange
information on laws and practices relevant to the rights of: public access
to environmental information; public participation in environmental
decision-making; and public access to justice on environmental matters
- Access Info Europe - Access Info Europe is a human rights organization
dedicated to promoting and protecting the right of access to information
in Europe and contributing to the development of this right globally.
Formed by European and international experts in access to information,
Access Info works to advance the highest standards of transparency in
government and other public bodies, as well as to promote the right to
information from private bodies where it is necessary for the protection of
fundamental rights.
- The Citizen Access Project - The Citizen Access Project is funded by
Orlando broadcast executive Marion Brechner. The project also received
funding from the Miami-based Knight Foundation.
- Campaign for Freedom of Information - The Campaign for Freedom of
Information (UK) is an non-profit organisation working to improve public
access to official information and ensure that the Freedom of Information
Act is implemented effectively. The Campaign was set-up in 1984, played
a leading role in the passage of the FOI Act and is recognised as a leading
independent authority in the field. We provide training both for public
authorities implementing the Act and for users of the legislation. Please

- The Open Society Justice Initiative - an operational program of the Open
Society Institute (OSI), pursues law reform activities grounded in the
protection of human rights, and contributes to the development of legal
capacity for open societies worldwide.
